VIDEO CONTENT

Here are three examples of my work writing and editing scripts and short-form video content.

digital video script

The Assignment

Write the voiceover script for a video to promote the launch of a recruitment portal.

The Challenge

Ensure that the script highlighted the platform’s USPs and lined up with stock footage in a way that would engage website visitors (desktop view) and anyone reading the closed-captions on mute via social media (mobile view).

The Results

The script was immediately integrated by the production team with limited revisions required. The video has been active on the client’s site since 2022 and continues to engage and convert visitors.

SCRIPT PUNCH UP

The Assignment

Edit, proofread, and provide ToV uplift for a YouTube series promoting popular online gaming offerings. Collaborate with my colleagues on the MarComms team to review agency-provided scripts and make sure that they were:

1) Accurate and compliant

2) Grammatically correct

3) Embodied the company’s unique tone of voice

Additionally, it was my responsibility to make the videos searchable, relying on YouTube-specific SEO research to ensure the highest-volume keywords were inserted strategically into video titles and meta descriptions to maximize visibility.

The Challenge

The agency writers were neither familiar with online gaming nor native English-speakers, so most scripts had to be rewritten completely on a sentence level to make sure they sounded fresh, punny, and wouldn’t land the company in any legal trouble.

The Results

Out of all the content produced by the company during my tenure, this series of videos was by far the farthest reaching in terms of traffic volume and engagement. They were unlike anything our competitors were doing at the time. Most importantly, we found our customers where they lived: YouTube. I collaborated on the first several videos in the series, which have accumulated in 21k-26k views each. Due to age restrictions, the content is only available to watch on YouTube. video editing

The Assignment

After a resource-intensive launch week, a SaaS company’s Sales and Marketing department enlisted me to cut the four webinars from the launch week into digestible clips to publish online and use as sales collateral. I also found unlicensed music for a brief into and outro and created CTAs, in-video links, and meta descriptions.

The Challenge

The webinars hadn’t been created with these short clips in mind. In order to make them stand on their own without sounding choppy, it was necessary to find opportunities within the presentations to make natural cuts and fade the audio in and out. I relied on my previous experience as a podcaster to make these basic media edits.

The Results

The videos have been posted on social media (LinkedIn and X), sent in emails to prospective to customers, and are available on the company’s YouTube channel. Their most salient application has been sending them to prospective customers to address a specific pain point with a short clip that demonstrates the platform’s capabilities in just a few minutes. Here’s an example:
